As
I wander on my solitary path, deep in thought, I gaze about, yet see
nothing. I am lost, blinded in a mist of realism. I trudge along doing
what is required, not knowing why I am here, what I am doing, or where
I am going. As I gaze at the stars it suddenly becomes clear to me,
as though a fog had lifted. For the first time I begin to see things
for what they are. These
celestial bodies are many, too numerous to count. But then, so are people,
and each has his own problems, trials and tribulations. When
looking at these testaments of the greatness of the Almighty, a plan
is seen. Oh, not very definite at first, but there is a an unmistakable
order there. Further examination of this vast panorama reveals a deeper,
far reaching plan. The bright constellations are but nova's, destined
to fade to obscurity. Now the steady faithful, small ones come twinkling
through. These are the truly important ones because they complete and
add fullness to the view. They reassure you; they are always there. So
it is with life. There is an over-reaching plan where each must play
his part to make it full and complete. It is expansive, encompassing
everyone, no matter how small and unimportant he may seem. Those seeking
earthly fame are the novas - bright for awhile slowly fading to nullity.
The others, the steady and faithful, will come shining through, prepared
to receive therir eternal rewards. Ellen Mirr '64. |
